Role Summary Reporting to the Head of CPD, the Software Engineer will be required to work as part of an agile team in order to: • Participate in System Architecture discussions • Proactively provide ideas and solutions towards the improvement of the products • Develop software modules and features • Handle change requests and provide quick and efficient solutions • Analyze business requirements and transform them into technical design • Implement the design to develop and test the functional requirements • Maintain source code • Interact with Product Management & Strategy teams to understand the business requirements • Provide effort estimates • Assess risk and impact on the existing system that may arise due to any requirement or functional change.

Key Responsibilities • You will work on every aspect of technical development from requirement analysis, architecture, design, development, testing and fault fixing through to deployment and the management of new generation WCM software. • This role is a proactive one where the individual is expected to be self-motivated and proactive as a key member of a highly skilled and experienced development team.

Technical skills • Programming experience in .NET 1.1/2.0(mandatory) and .NET 3.5 preferable, C#, ASP.NET, Web Services • SQL Server database design and development • Excellent understanding of web technologies such as HTML, XML and JavaScript, AJAX and their use within the programming environment • Software Engineering degree or equivalent • Microsoft certified professional preferable. Personal skills and experience • You will have a strong commercial development experience of 3 - 5 years and at least 2 years strong C# and ASP.NET development experience. • You should also have 1-2 years strong SQL Server experience with skills to create and maintain stored procedures, manage database objects and perform data optimization tasks as necessary. • Knowledge of latest web technologies is a must, as is a genuine interest and passion for the web. • Experience in an Enterprise environment is desirable.
